I found this a hard thing to even make the first call to Dan, I had more issues than just the usual drink and other related problems. From the... read more first call I was relieved he could see me so quickly and sounded so understanding to only the small information I wanted to give him. I also had major marital problems which I have found him most helpful for. I would like to commend him on this for how he has helped me with my marriage over the past 5 weeks I have been seeing him. So I think it should be said - not to just think of him as an alcohol and drugs counsellor, he should be seen as so much more. I actually reached out to Danny at 11pm one Friday night in crisis, Danny messaged me back first thing Saturday morning and agreed to see Christian that same day. I can honestly say that we have both never looked back. The counselling sessions have been amazing. Christian has developed a strong relationship with Danny, Danny is honest and also forced me to take on board that I also needed to make some commitments as well if Christian took drugs. It’s been hard but Danny is so supportive, it’s not just the weekly one to ones, he regularly reaches out to offer support and knows exactly the times these messages will have the most impact. As a mum you like to think you can do everything alone and often are not fully aware of the extent of your child’s addiction, it is easy for me to write this review, Danny has had such a positive impactful influence on my sons life, my son is happy and healthy and I have no doubt that in the main is due to the support he has received from Danny. I have been struggling... read more with alcoholism for a number of years. I have tried different approaches for support including achieve and AA. These do help people. However, I’d been seeing Dans page popping up and decided to grow a pair and contact him on Friday afternoon. By the Friday evening we had arranged todays meet. I had heard his story in podcasts ect but it was more inspiring and hit home more hearing it from Dan himself. He gave me the space to talk and we are putting together a plan of ACTION which has given me the confidence and the strong, positive mindset going forward in my recovery. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone who is or has family members or friends struggling with alcohol especially in the city Manchester (not exclusive to) to get in touch.
